EARLY EXPOSITORY STORY CARDS

The purpose of the two early cards—story and expository—is to help students understand and differentiate between the two broad text forms. Students at this level need to continue writing stories using the Early Story Card, but now the instructional focus can shift to developing students understanding of expository text. This is done through the introduction and use of the Early Expository Card.
